Leos leads school into new year

Summary:
Susan Leos becomes principal of Bowie High school while the student body undergoes changes in there school day these include changes in schedule, staff, and FIT.

Summary:
This year the Bowie choir is purchasing new uniforms and donating there old to schools in the Austin area. The choir see this as an opportunity to give back and give confidence in the form of clothes to other choirs in schools. They are doing this for schools who can not afford new uniforms and are overwhelmed with other expenses.

Summary:
This year there is a new addition of teachers to Bowie's Spanish department that are questioning the strength of previous teaching tactics. This year new teachers are working with the old teachers to cook up some new ideas on how to teach students the language since immersion is not completely working.

During FIT and lunch Key Club and NHS members will offer tutoring services in exchange for school supplies to get service hours. The members will give the school supplies to less fortunate elementary schools.

Why- She fought a hard battle and lost to brain cancer

Summary:
Nikki Vohl lost her life to brain cancer on July 24, 2016. Many teachers and students loved her and she left her legacy at Bowie. The community was impacted by her death and she will be remembered.

Harley Fetterman loses extended battle with Leukemia over summer
Who- Harley Fetterman
What- Lost his life
When- Over summer

Why- He had leukemia and lost his battle with it
How- He was diagnosed with a brain tumor at 5 years old.

Summary:
Over the summer, Harley Fetterman lost his life to leukemia after 13 years of fighting. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of five. He had a great spirit and was admired by many teachers and students.
