Huntington Story

Who- Tombo (Pomeranian), Janice Jones
What- Was shot in the leg
When- 10 p.m. Wednesday
Where- Barstow, California back of motor home parked on Beach Boulevard.
Why- Her 9mm handgun fell off a seat
How- Her dog knocked it off the seat


At 10 p.m. on Wednesday Janice Jones, 53, was shot in her right leg by here 9mm handgun in the back of her motor home parked in Barstow, California while she was enjoying pork chops. The gun was knocked off a chair by her Pomeranian, Tombo, when it was then fired as it hit the floor.
This is when the bullet passed through Jone's leg and went through the side of the vehicle according to Highway Patrol press liaison Tammy Rye.
"It could have been worse,” Rye said. “The bullet hit two inches from the gas tank.”
Jones was later driven to Huntington Beach Hospital and then moved to Irvine Medical Center where she was treated. 
Tombo was put in custody of Huntington Beach Animal Control officers including Janet Ngo.
"Tombo was malnourished and was marked with cigarette burns on his forehead," said Ngo. "It could have done with a little less abuse and a few more of those pork chops." 
Ngo office would explore filling animal abuse charges against Jones and Rye cited Jones for expired plates. They are now considering charging in relation to the gun during the accident which she did not have a permit for.
