Long Response:
The 9/11 bill allows families of the people killed in the 9/11 attacks to sue Saudi Arabia. This is significant because it is the first veto in Obama's presidency to be overridden. Obama warned congress that this bill could "be devastating to the Department of Defense and it's service members." He also says that it will definitely conflict with foreign affairs. I do not think that Americans should sue a foreign country because it could make issues within foreign affairs. I also think that gaining money from a country is less important then having good relations with a country. I also think that we could abuse the power we are given and start suing different countries which could completely destroy foreign relations. I think there is definitely going to be consequences that come out of the 9/11 bill. We have been good allies with Saudi Arabia for many years and I believe this is unfair to Saudi Arabia.  I think that we should not be stuck in the past and move towards the future of allying and making good relations with different countries. Although Justice is very important, keeping peace in the future is crucial.
