Long Response
Senate Bill 4 is a bill that was passed that basically says that local officials cannot inquire about the immigration status of someone in custody. The purpose of this bill is to have local authorities enforce federal immigration laws. I think the impact of this bill will be shown through all of Texas due to the fact that the state and cities don't want to loose money. I think there will be many protesting this bill due to the fact immigration should be easily allowed in the United States. I think Sanctuary Cities are a good thing because one of the main reasons people come to the U.S. is to start a new life and to work hard towards a better life then the one they had in their own country. I think these cities are a great place to help immigrants start and feel welcomed into the U.S.
